Third Party Cheap Car Insurance
On this page we've provided a no nonsense explanation of what Third Party Cheap Car Insurnce offers, we hope that you find it useful.
Third Party Car Insurance can be a very good way to reduce your insurance costs if you need to save a bit of money or simply don't think the car is worth very much money. You should be aware that although third party insurance is probably the cheapest, it also offer the least protection of any level. There are no situations where your property is covered, if someone hits you then the only way you would get money for your car would be through their insurance company.
We would not really recommend this level of insurance because you are left with little protection and very often, third party fire and theft car insurance is the same price. The extra protection gained is discussed here.
How much is the car worth?
If you could not replace the car easily from your own pocket then this level of insurance is NOT for you. Your car is not covered under your insurance at all.
Below are a list of instances where your car is covered and you would receive a pay out:
| Situation | Covered? | |
| You've hit someone else? |
NO
|
(Only their property is covered under your insurance ) |
| Your car was stolen? |
NO
|
|
| The car was set on fire? |
NO
|
|
| The car was vandalised? |
NO
|
As you can see third party car insurance offers you very little protection against anything happenning to your car. The reason that this level of insurance exists is that UK law requires each driver of a vehicle to have adequate insurance to cover any third party or their property. Basically it's there to protect other people, not you.
Think carefully before you take out this policy, it can be worth spending £30 more if it means you might get some money should you car be stolen or set on fire.
