Car insurance companies have received over 14,000 reports detailing how motorist number plates have being stolen and they now offer exclusive motor insurance policies with number plates that self destruct if they are tampered with or unscrewed.

With the wide spread news of number plate theft many motorists are now claiming there number plates have been stolen. The police are warning against any motorist claiming this unless it is true, any false claims will end up in the motorist concerned having to pay a heavy fine.
