Safe Driving - New Speed Camera Road Atlas

For the first time in history a road atlas will be published for the UK that includes the positions of all fixed and mobile speed cameras. These maps to be made by the AA and are already one of the UK's best selling road atlases. Not only will they help you navigate from A to B but they will help you avoid getting caught for speeding too.

Opposition to the new road maps suggest that the AA is being very irresponsible by including speed camera information in the new road maps. They suggest that by printing the locations of fixed and mobile speed camera it is giving the motorist scope to speed without suffering the consequences of a speeding fine, penalty points and an increase in car insurance premiums.

The AA argued that there are already devices available on the market that will warn the motorist of the position of a speed camera on a certain stretch of road this just allows motorists with less money the same privilege. They also argue that the whole point of a speed camera is that they are placed in accident black spots and by telling the motorist the position of these cameras it highlights the fact that these areas need a little extra attention.

The fact is that why should local drivers and motorists with camera detectors have the advantage over other motorists. If this will help to reduce speeding in the UK then surely it must be a good thing as we could all benefit from safer roads, less speeding fines and therefore cheap car insurance premiums.
