NCAP Safety Tests..
It's been 10 years since the NCAP safety tests were introduced and we for one are delighted that they're now becoming an important aspect of selling a car. Families are considering the NCAP safety tests as a real feature on a car because what's more important than your families safety? Nothing.
NCAP has been introducing new areas of it assessment criteria, the most recent being the pedestrian section of its tests. The occupants are safer than they've ever been, but pedestrians are still at risk of being seriously injured or killed by vehicles that should have been safer. Bonnets and bumpers are being redesigned to reduce the likelihood of serious head injuries and who knows, maybe we'll have airbags for pedestrians in the future.
It's quite possible that car insurance will start to factor in NCAP ratings now that compensation claims are on the rise. When choosing your car, make sure spend some time researching every aspect of ownership, insurance and fuel economy are important, but isn't the safety of yourself and others more important?
